Born in Ghana, Jasmin-Nicole is a Canadian emerging visual artist. Jasmin-Nicole is a graduate of OCAD University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Drawing and Painting program. I am a Toronto based visual artist and freelance hairstylist. My current body of figurative and abstract artwork serves as a vehicle for accessing ancestral memories, and my dreams which yield growth, structure and forward thinking. Through an intuitive process of visualization, I paint and draw to explore spirituality, wellness, sensuality, and nature to communicate my lived experiences.

When I'm not making art, I'm (a) ...
When did you start making art, and why?
I have always been artistic but I started focusing on creating art in high school. Painting is my main creative and meditative outlet. I make art to see myself represented frequently in the media as a dark skin Black woman.
